FALL Functions - The Problems
September 29,2008

For the following problems let f(x) = x + 2, a(x) = 3x – 4 and l(x) = x2 + 9.

Find the value of the functions f(x), a(x) and l(x), when x = 6.

What is the value of f(x) + a(x). Express your answer in terms of x.
What is the value of f(a(l(l(8))))?

The solutions to this week's problems will be posted on Monday, October 6.
