Olympic Shot Put Math - The Problems

The shot put competition returned to one of the sites of the original Olympics, and it drew a huge crowd this year! Cuba's Yumileidi Cumba Jay won the women’s shot-put gold medal with a throw of 19.59 meters. If 1 yard is equivalent to 0.9144 meters, what was the distance of the winning throw, in feet? Express your answer as a decimal to the nearest tenth.

If you watched the competition, you saw that the competitor stands inside a circular region with a 7-foot diameter, and then must "throw" or "put" the "shot" (or heavy ball!) as far as she can while staying inside this small circular region. What is the circumference, in feet, of this region? Express your answer as a decimal to the nearest hundredth.

The shot must land within a 40-degree sector of a larger concentric circle (a circle that shares the same center as the 7-foot-diameter circle). The men’s qualifying throws were more than 75 feet! How many square feet are within a 40-degree sector of a circle with a radius of 75 feet? Express your answer to the nearest whole number.
